Founder/CEO Sandi DeRuntz
Sandi DeRuntz is the founder and inventor of ZipperBuddy, an adaptive clothing innovation designed to help people zip their jackets with one hand.
Living with a disability herself, Sandi experienced firsthand how everyday tasks—like zipping a coat—can become unexpected barriers. When she couldn’t find a solution that allowed people to keep the jackets they love while regaining independence, she decided to invent one.
ZipperBuddy was born from that moment. What started as a prototype in a university adaptive design class quickly grew into a mission-driven company focused on dignity, independence, and inclusive design.
Today, Sandi leads ZipperBuddy with a simple belief: the tools we use to navigate life should work with us—not force us to change who we are.​
